Lednice - Valtice area
Valtice, an ancient town in the south of Moravia will enchant you through its viticulture spirit and the beauty of the local castle. The Lichtenstein´s princes were so fond of this area, that they chose Valtice for their residence and made a beautiful park out of the surroundings.
Valtice´s castle is one the hugest baroque architectures in Moravia. There is a vast area with parks and many romantic architectures from the first half of the 19th century, as the Colonnade (also called Reistna), the Belvedere, Diana´s temple (Rendez-Vous) and St.Hubert´s chapel in the surroundings of the castle.
You will feel like in a romantic fairy-tale while visiting the castle of Valtice, like an English aristocrat at Jan´s fort and you will get the feeling of beating down the Ancient Rome in front of the triumphal arc Rendez-Vous.
The whole Lednice-Valtice area has been added to the World cultural heritage monuments directory UNESCO. There are also cycling paths in this area,
the so called Lichtenstein´s paths.
